About Me
Hi, I’m Ashton, the photographer! With me is Kyle and our sweet scruffy doggo, Tater. In 2026 we decided to head back to my hometown in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. After living in Alaska for 14 years and then Denver for a little over a year, we’ve been enjoying slowing down a bit in the country. While Kyle isn’t the photographer or who you’ll be working with, he is behind the scenes answering your emails and sending out updates. Tater? Well he’s just here for everyone’s emotional support, haha!
If you’ve made it this far into my website, I’m going to guess that you like what you see! I work in both Virginia and Alaska, so if you’re up North please know I’m still available to you!
I can’t stress enough that my sessions are SO laid back and meant to be nothing but fun for your littles. In fact, most of my clients (mostly the men and older kids, ha) say, “that’s it?”. YES. I don’t think photoshoots should be painful teeth pulling events in your life! Let’s plan a sweet and cozy in home session or even go adventure in the mountains. I’m down for whatever! Can’t wait to chat with you.
Fun Facts
My favorite part of a photo session is
Watching the connection between littles and their parents. YOU don’t get to see that and watching it from the outside is so special.
My go-to coffee order is…
Oat Milk Latte, Vanilla, Half Sweet!
My favorite tv show
What We Do in the Shadows! It’s really hard to make me laugh but I can watch that show on repeat and cackle every time, haha.
What I hope families feel during our sessions is
Relaxed, comfortable, and to genuinely enjoy their session experience. Most of the time we get to the end and someone always says, “That’s it? It’s already over?”. That’s the best!
Favorite Music
I listen to everything. My partner is a musician and Americana is on heavy rotation in our home, but I love anything 90’s, rock, rap, old country…everything, haha.
One way my neurodivergence makes me a better photographer is…
Being on the spectrum means my brain catches things other people might miss. I notice the little stuff, the way a baby grabs your shirt, a quick glance between siblings, the small moments that tell the real story. Those details are what I love to photograph.
